Organizing Tip of the Month:

May, 2008:

Do you constantly find yourself rushing through your day from appointment to appointment?  Are you known for being late to things?  Try this time management tip:   overestimate the amount of time you need to accomplish things during your day.  For instance, if someone asks you to attend a meeting that is only expected to take an hour, block out 90 minutes on your calendar.  The meeting may run late or you may want to follow-up with one of the attendees after the meeting.  Allocating 90 minutes for the meeting will add some flexibility to your schedule so you’re not rushing to get to the next meeting or appointment.  Do the same thing when estimating the amount of time it will take you to drive somewhere.  If you live in Fairfield County , you know how unpredictable the traffic situation can be.  Allowing extra time for your travels will decrease your stress level and get you to your destination safely and on time (if not early!).

If you have a tip you’d like to share, please call or email me and I’d be happy to publish it, including your name, as a future Tip of the Month.
